We felt it was time for an update on what has been happening here at Henley Research.
Language capability - one of the things we hope sets Henley Research apart from other executive research companies is the presence within our team of high calibre researchers who are fluent in different languages. Executive recruitment has an increasingly international flavour, and whilst many of the executives we find and contact speak very good English, we feel our ability to use different tongues gives us a real edge elsewhere. In no particular order, it shows we are professional and 'international' in our approach to candidates which gives us and our clients immediate credibility; it helps enormously during name identification exercises when we may well have to speak to a number of people in an overseas company to find out who is who; and it can sometimes be the only way we can effectively communicate with a re ally good candidate who doesn't speak good English.
Our team has recently grown and with it the number of languages we can offer. At the time of going to press members of our in-house team offer fluency in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Bulgarian, Estonian, Urdu, Punjabi and Hindi, and a good intermediate level of command of Russian and Romanian. It's important to stress that this team is based in one office rather than it being a network of associates, which is what a lot of firms offer.
Feedback please! - a plea to clients (one that many will have heard before...) - please do let us know the outcome of the assignments we work on with you. Many of you are really good at giving us updates on whether executive positions we have researched have been filled, but in some cases we never get to hear the outcomes. It means a lot to us to get feedback, especially if candidates we have found make the shortlist or get the job, so please do let us know!
Talent mapping exercises - whilst most of our work continues to be carrying out research for specific roles, we are getting more involved in talent mapping exercises with our executive recruitment clients. Recruiters and their clients are more and more becoming aware of the value of having a clear picture of the talent that is out there in their specialist sector, and keeping this information up to date.
Time flies - since the last of these 'newsletters' we have been very busy on a huge variety of assignments. The team here relishes the challenge of research all over the world in the last few months we have spoken with executives in countries as far afield as Korea, Brazil, Cambodia, Bangladesh and Algeria, and successfully found candidates for roles based in the UAE, China, Cambodia , Bangladesh, Turkey, the USA, and Kazakhstan. During that time our team has expanded, and everyone is featured on our website, complete with updated questions and answers which provide a glimpse into the world of each of them!
